New “Clockwork Prince” Teasers

Cassandra Clare posted three new Clockwork Prince teasers on her Twitter.

Will: “Tess,” he said, and she thought, once again, how no one but him ever called her that. “That is all I think about.”

Tessa: “Jem!” she cried again, and when he did not look up, she strode across the room, and wrenched the bow out of his hand. “Jem, stop!”

Unattributed: “I would die for you, you know that.”

Hunger Games Movie Update

Hunger Games Movie Update

The EW.com has released the official date for the movie:

March, 23 2012

From the EW:

“Game on! Lionsgate has announced to EW that The Hunger Games, the highly anticipated adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ futuristic YA thriller about scrapper Katniss Everdeen and her fight to survive a brutal reality TV contest, will be released on March 23, 2012. Director Gary Ross recently revealed to EW that he aims to go into production of the first installment of Collins’ trilogy later this spring.”

Casting Director

The Hunger Games has also gotten Zebra Zane as their official casting director. Also, there will not be any open casting calls, nor should you send in photos or resume.

“Also, just wanted to put this here too. I intern at a major casting office (not Debra Zane Casting, but they all work in a similar manner.) If you send in headshots / information / an acting resume to their office it WILL be thrown away. Doing so will just create more work for them. I know, I’m the intern that throws away a bunch of packages from hopeful actors without agents without even opening them. It’s unfortunate, but if they were going to look at people that don’t have an agent / aren’t part of a talent agency then they would just do an open call. Also, if you were planning on casting a movie, would you want people who have NO experience? Like, if I wanted to hire someone to fly a plane, I’d get someone who knew how. There are many actors out there that are completely unknown but do have experience.”

Breaking News: Maximum Ride

As most of my Maximum Ride readers know, the seventh Maximum Ride book, Angel, will be available for us in late February, but I have just gotten news that the eighth and FINAL Maximum Ride novel will come out next year.

James Patterson has confirmed on Max-Dan-Wiz saying:

“FANG in paperback hit stores on Tuesday and ANGEL will be out in February but the end is near. And Breaking News: the eighth and final installment of Maximum Ride will come out in 2012. How will it all end for Max and her flock?”

I am completely shocked that the end of the series will be next year.  I always imagine Maximum Ride lasting forever, but I guess everything must end eventually.

The Harry Potter Series

Title: The Harry Potter Series
Author: J.K. Rowling
Genre: Fantasy
Number of Books: 7
Rating:
Background on Novel
“Orphaned as a baby, Harry Potter has spent 11 awful years living with his mean aunt, uncle, and cousin Dudley. But everything changes for Harry when an owl delivers a mysterious letter inviting him to attend a school for wizards. At this special school, Harry finds friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, as well as a great destiny that’s been waiting for him…if Harry can survive the encounter. From an author who has been compared to C. S. Lewis and Roald Dahl, this enchanting, funny debut novel won England’s National Book Award and the prestigious Smarties Prize.”
In Short
Many of the people that I know are shocked to find out that I had never read the Harry Potter series, and you, my reader, might find that quite shocking as well.  Where most kids much younger than myself were drawn to Harry Potter, I was not.  I believe that it was the fact that I had never watched many of the movies, and the movies I did watch were watched out of order.  There was also the fact that there were seven books in the series- seven books that I

was not ready to commit to because I had so many other books I wanted to read.  Although, I knew it wouldn’t be long before I read them.

Two weeks ago I decided it was time for me to delve into the world of Harry Potter because I wanted to finally understand everything about them.  I started my journey- obviously- on book one, The Sorcerer’s Stone and today I ended with book seven, The Deathly Hollows.  Each one of the books were crafted in such a way that it kept you longing for more, and you could tell that J.K. Rowling put her heart and soul  into each one.  That is what I believe is the key to creating a wonderful novel- putting a little bit of who you are into it.  The entire world that was created in the “Harry Potter universe” was so detailed that I could not deny the feeling of how real it felt.  Every book had a wonderful plot line that was easy for children and adults to follow alike.  If you are like me and have not yet made the decision to read Harry Potter I highly recommend you do.  It is perhaps one of the greatest books I have ever read, and I have no doubt it will withstand the hand of time.
Thank you for reading,
